John (Jock) McQueenie grew up in Scotland in a wee town called Milngavie at the end of the railway line. A few stops to the south, industrial, monochrome Glasgow, to the north the moors and hills - two very different worlds both of which he still loves dearly. From his favourite hilltop you can see both.

A misspent youth photographing rock bands and driving London buses was followed, in1982, by a move to Australia. This led to the University of Tasmania and a First Class Honours Degree in Fine Art and the University of Tasmania Medal. As an artist,  Jock exhibited nationally and internationally. As an arts educator he has worked extensively in the tertiary and community sectors. From 1993-9 Jock developed and ran a community arts program for Unions Tasmania that received national recognition for its innovative approach to community and industry based arts practice.

The hallmark of this program was its collaborative process of engagement with the companies and their communities: the customising of projects according to the partners’ own strategic objectives. Before concepts such as Triple Bottom Line, Corporate Social Responsibility and the Creative Industries came into general circulation this work was seen as ground breaking and was awarded National Model status (1996) by the Australia Council for the Arts.

The model became known as the 3Cs – Community, Culture, Commerce. Since 2000 Jock has worked as an independent consultant, specialising as a creative broker and producer of projects. Jock works with a wide range of clients, partners and associates

3C projects have been generating corporate and government investment and employing creative professionals throughout Australia and New Zealand for over 20 years. More recently Jock returned to academic research (QUT) where he has completed a Doctorate based upon his 3C methodology.
